Scam Phone Number 9099998552, US Treasury. Will be arrested in the next 30 minutes! Broken English!.
I received a voicemail message indicating that I was going to be arrested for fraud if I didn't call back. So I called back and got a live person who barely spoke English and identified himself as an employee of the US treasury department and indicated that the IRS had filed a criminal complaint against me for tax fraud.
He confirmed my address and asked me if I had a criminal lawyer. I indicated that I did not and I also indicated that I had not received any notices in the mail that I owed a tax lien.
He said that I was going to be arrested in the next 30 minutes somebody would be at my door. And then he hung up on me. I am very upset to say the least. I told him I did not owe any federal tax and he said how do you know you don't?
He sent that I did not respond to the notices they sent and I said I never received any notices after reading all the post here I am happy to see that this is a scam.
By the way when he read my address and asked me to confirm it it was the incorrect address but I said it was the correct address. So it will be interesting to see if someone does show up at my old address. How can we report this so this person can be arrested?
