Travel Offer Scam
The reported explicit text messages are being sent by a spam bot (not human) to a very large database of stolen phone numbers. The bot keeps changing the “from #” and the fake name of the sender, used in the messages . This is why people are reporting similar texts but from different numbers.
Those who revert are scammed into visiting adult, illegal or infected websites.
It's important that the texts are reported to the FTC to help trace the location of the rogue servers used to store and send the spam texts.
It's unfortunate that these texts are landing on cell phones of even kids & teenagers.
Unfriend strangers in social media websites! Hide phone number and email id in your social profiles. Don’t let scammers steal personal data.
Forward unsolicited, spam texts by simply texting it to 7726 (or “SPAM”) to block the sender.
