Scam Phone Number 8558856510, Received Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes check $4531.20 - Taxes.
Received a $4531.20 "check" from Publishers Clearing House for processing duty taxes to collect second place winnings of $75,000. Obviously not on the real PCH stationery, the outer envelope had a Canadian postage stamp, and check was drawn on SCP Distributors LLC out of Louisiana. Call the 855 number after 5pm (didn't really want to speak to my claims rep) & the message was You've called All American Association. TRASHED IT!!

Premium Rate Number Fraud
Classic Jamaican scam! The scammers send bogus checks asking victim to cash it and use the draw amount as "tax" for the "winning amount". The "tax" off course will have to be sent to the scammer or his agent!!
When checks are presented, banks usually do not do instant verification, except for checking for very obvious fraud indicators. Due to this, bad checks get instantly cashed when presented to bank.
The victim will happily send product to the scammer.
After a few days, when check goes for clearing, the Federal Reserve Check Clearing House would detect that the check was fake and the fraud will get exposed. The bank will come gunning after the victim and would demand that the drawn amount be paid back immediately. Bank may also alert police and the victim would now have to face investigation too, for check fraud! It would be a very messy situation to be in.
Hence, if you are accepting check, wait till it finally clears, before sending items / money
