Scam Phone Number 8552072685, Debt and Arrest Scam. That I owe Riverside Lending from 2010.
This morning I received a call from 855-207-2685. I declined call but listened to the voicemail they left. It said something about a complaint against me so I decided to call back to see what this could be about. When they answered they put me on hold. As I was on hold I got a call from a 317 number. I Googled the 317 number as I waited and it turned out to be the number you would use to call the Marion County Sheriff's Department. Just as I was about to hang up and take the call from the Sheriff's department the woman who called me from the 855 number answered.
She goes on about how I owe some company (I believe she said Riverside Lending) money from 2010. She said I had made some payments and then stopped. She said that because of this they were going to send the sheriff's department out to arrest me due to "Defrauding a Lending Institution" or something.
Well, since I had received the previous call from the Sheriff's department I started to believe her. She claimed that the settlement amount was for $800 but if I took it to court it would be for $3700. I believe she said she was calling from Court Services for Cardinal Services (although I couldn't hear her clearly). She wanted payment immediately and told me that if I hung up the phone I would be arrested.
This sounded wrong to me so I asked her if I could put her on hold while I called to get money. Instead of calling to get money I called the Sheriff's department. They said that this was most likely a scam as they would never call to tell me they were going to arrest me. I even asked for them to check to see if I had a warrant out for my arrest (I didn't).
When I went to talk to the scam artist again the call dropped. She ended up calling me back from 765-276-8083. I answered and started to confront her about it. She hung up and I haven't heard back since.
I've found reports of scammers using old data from people who have looked in to PayDay loans. Please beware of this scam.

Tickets Scam
No legal case can proceed without a formal notice being served in writing. Hence if something was cooking, you would be aware of it since you would have received a notice.
Legitimate debt collectors will send notice in writing with details of debt owed.
Those who call and intimidate without sending Debt Validation Notice are scammers who have nothing to do with you except alarm you into paying them cash. They threaten to “sue”, “serve papers” or may use words such as ‘Civil Enforcement Unit’, ‘Arrest Warrant’, ‘Restraining Order’, ‘Wage Garnishment’ etc. in an attempt to instill fear.
If they call you again, raise your voice & tell them that you are aware of the scam and that the call is being taped and you have filed a complaint with the Police and they are tracking the call. Tell him that it’s a waste of time calling you, since you will NEVER pay a penny to scammers.
Scammers won’t trouble people who know the call is a scam. It would be a waste of resources for the scammer to keep calling people who are smart.
Scammers look for people who get easily hassled and are unaware of legal processes and their rights under the law.
Be extremely rude & abusive to these scammers and blast them away. The vast majority of these scammers operate from abroad and deserve to be cussed off.
