Scam Phone Number 8449259233, Micheal Davido, Jennings Legal Services. old Sprint phone bill of 2006.
I received a call from someone saying they were from Jennings Legal Services and saying that I was being served papers to appear in court for an old Sprint phone bill from 2006.
I believed them at first but after talking to people and searching the internet for awhile I started to believe it was a scam. I called back the number and asked for the persons name. He said it was Micheal Davido and he represented Jennings Legal Services and that I owed $1343.
When he said I could make the payment voluntarily to a Bank Of America account I new it was a scam and now seeing it on this website I know it is! SCAM #844-925-9233

The period of SOL is not uniform in all states and varies between 3 to 10 years. Check the SOL period in your state, here legaldebtfoundation.org/bankruptcy/how-does-it-work/state-laws/statute-of-limitations-by-state/
After that period, your unpaid debts are considered ‘time-barred’ and a debt collector cannot sue you, for not paying that debt. The SOL period starts from the time of your last payment, not from the time of your first payment.
Late payments go on your credit report, after 30 days and it will remain there for 7 years. If someone calls you and demands old debt, obtain and check your credit report, first!. If the alleged old debt is not stated in the Credit Report, you should know that the call is a scam!
Even if the debt appears in the Credit Report, paying a scammer who might have learned about your unpaid debt and tried to extract money from you, will not help to make the debt disappear. You will only lose money!
If there is a payment delay of more than 120 days, the lenders will turn it over to either internal or a third party collection agency to recover the debt. They may also charge-off the debt (write off) or sell it to one of the debt collectors. These incidents are reported in your Credit Report
Only the collection agency that currently owns the debt can show an amount in the Credit Report. The previous entries should show zero balance. Duplicate entries will be deleted by the Credit Bureaus. However, if you find duplication, send a dispute letter to the credit bureaus asking them to correct the entries.
Here is a quote from Experian “The original account and subsequent collection accounts will be deleted seven years from the original delinquency date. The original delinquency date is the date of the first missed payment after which the account was never again current.
The collection agency is required by law to carry over that original delinquency date from the first account and report it to the credit reporting company. That ensures the collection account is deleted at the correct time.”
If a debt has been reported in your Credit report it will fall off the report after 7 years, from the date of first default. A decision to pay an old debt has to be taken, considering all the above matters. Most people may find it appropriate not to pay a debt which is protected by SOL and if the debt has disappeared or is going to disappear from Credit Report, soon.
