Scam Phone Number 8446191810, Caller said he was with AOL technical support and my email was hacked.
Posed as tech support from AOL about problems with my email account. Said it was hacked and he can help me restore account. I said fine let me login. The guy said "No! you would permanently lose account access" Said he will help me restore the account. Asked me to give him the password so that he can login through the super admin panel and he would reset password... Sounded very much like a SCAM!! I told him I don't remember the password and hung up!

Scammers from Asia, make cold calls telling everyone they speak to, the same story that your computer has problems to be fixed, it has a virus, it's slow or it's sending out error messages. They hope for baiting that one person who may actually be having some trouble and hence may assume the call is intended for him and hence legit!
It would be extremely unwise for someone to trust an unknown caller and give him access to computer. It’s as good as inviting a thief home and letting him carry out his ‘activities’, without any hindrance!
These foreign scammers are known for injecting virus into victim’s computer and completely damaging it. They will then offer to clean it, for a large Fee.
Even after the payment of Fees, users have found to their horror, that nothing has been done to remove the infections.
The error that we make when we receive such a call, is in presuming that the call is arriving from within the US and hence could probably be legit.
Don’t get carried away by the local number displayed. Scammers from Asia who run call centers spoof the phone number using software, to make it appear local.
