Fake Seller
The caller is obviously a scam artist. Scammers call hundreds of people with same storyline. Most would be able to spot the scam and stay away.
According to the FBI, callers pose as government employees representing Attorney General’s office, FBI, Local Sheriff’s Office, the FDA, the IRS, other Federal Law enforcement authorities and scare victims by throwing around words like “financial fraud”, “loan default”, “arrest warrant”, “wage garnishment”, “lien on property”, “involvement in alcohol &drugs”, “buying controlled substances online without a valid prescription”, “possessing contraband”, “browsing pornography”, “contacting minor online”, “failure to report for jury duty”, et al. The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment in attempts to obtain payment. The callers refuse to provide information regarding the alleged fraud or any other documentation and become verbally abusive when questioned.
Don’t give-in to such fraudsters. Federal law enforcement officers will never call and ask you to pay money. If you get such a call, do report to the local FBI Office
