Scam Phone Number 6466878225, wells fargo. call this number 645-687-8225. skeptical about answering.

I haven't answered it yet. going on for a dew days. I have no affiliation that I know of and text message just Said to call this number 6456878225. I am skeptical about even answering or calling back for fear its an attempt to access my information they do not ask for anybody by name in request for a call back can you tell me if this is legit and I if there is a reason for me to contact this number. thank you, Nancy

The text message received by you is indeed a scam. Similar messages are sent to thousands of phone numbers. Some of those who have account with Wells Fargo may fall for the scam, thinking it was a genuine alert.

The automated system will ask the victim to key-in, card number, name, date of birth and even the security code! And at the end of it, it will declare that your card is reactivated!

We should call our banks only at it’s official phone number which would be at the back of the bank card. Scammers call and send text messages pretending to be a Bank and will either direct victims to a phishing site or would try to extract account info over the phone.
