Police Scam

Kevin reports that this spam text is also being sent to people who are not on Facebook. This exposes the fact that the scammers are trying to get out of regulatory restrictions in sending spam text messages by alluding to Facebook as the source of your contact. Reference to Facebook is only a red herring. Scammers seem to be sending the same text to a large database of phone numbers, obtained by them from sources, other than Facebook. Obviously, most people would not complain to FCC about this scam since the texts refer to Facebook with which they may have a relation. And this seem to be the reason why the spam text refers to a “Facebook to Text app”!
