Lawyer / Litigation Call
Scammers are leaving text messages with the weird texts like "call me noow ugeently 0056651973153". The wrong spellings in the text message gives it away as scam, being sent from a non English speaking country. The "from" phone number is spoofed. It's not a real number. The call back number is real and the call goes to CHILE. (0056 Country code)
Those who call back could end up losing money on premium rate international call. Could also get scammed since from the other end, the scammer will declare that the caller has won a lottery prize and then slowly trap the victim into sending money to the scammer, as tax or fees. In the process the scammer also would steal personal data including name, address, bank etc. The data collected from thousands of victims are sold to criminal gangs who could mount more serious phone and email scam attacks, in future.
