Loan Scams
Hi Lisa, the call is most likely to be from India and not from Arizona nor Maryland.
The phone numbers are spoofed to appear as if they are local numbers. The callers will have certain basic information from customer database of lenders or scam websites offering payday loans, who would have sold such data to rogue companies
Using the data available, the callers pretend to be debt collectors and proceed to use threats, lies, and abusive tactics to extort money which the victim do not owe at all or if owed, is time barred. And time barred debt cannot be recovered through court process.
So the threats by these scam callers are absolutely empty sound bites and are mere scare tactics!
