Legitimate debt collectors will send notice in writing with details of debt owed.
Those who call and threaten without sending Debt Validation Notice are scammers who have nothing to do with you except alarm you into paying them cash. They use words such as 'Civil Enforcement Unit', 'Arrest Warrant', 'Restraining Order', 'Wage Garnishment' etc. in an attempt to instill fear.
If they call again, tell them that the call is being recorded and you have filed a complaint with the Police and they are tracking the call. They are crooks and are afraid of police and will stop calling.
Be extremely rude & abusive to these scammers and blast them away. The vast majority of these scammers operate from abroad and deserve to be cussed out.
