I immediately looked the number up as suspected a scam...
Divina S reported: Steve Modern or Steve Martin - "Never addressed this household by name - just said "this message is intended to contact you". Mentioned words such as US Treasury and federal criminal offense, words meant to frighten us. Also, had a thick accent. Obviously a scam. I'd like to call the number just to give them a piece of my mind, but I don't even want to open any dialogue with them."

Hi NA and others! Thanks for taking the trouble to transcribe the VM and post at SCF!
The voicemail is handiwork of scammers from Asia. The awful grammar gives it away. The scammers fraudulently use names of well known legal firms and throw around names of payday loan companies. Out of thousands of calls made at the same time, the scammers expect a few people to be alarmed enough, to respond. The victims are then terrorized into paying money, by threatening arrest, jail term, wage garnishment and in the case of immigrants, deportation.
We should publish details of such voicemail threats, to help spread information about the scam and save others from being victimized.
