The postcard is a marketing gimmick for signing you up for a travel club membership. The letter may refer to US Airlines, American Airways etc. There are no such companies in the US yet, as we write this! (Those names are used to confuse users with US Airways & American Airlines)
The letter asks people to call up a designated number. Only couples with ‘Major’ Credit cards will be allowed to attend a presentation.
The presentation will be a high pitched attempt to sell travel club membership and this is where presence of ‘couples’ become handy! Unless both partners have decided in advance that they would not buy anything, there is a good possibility that they could be tricked to sign up. (To avoid embarrassing moments in presence of partner!)
The travel club membership could be a high priced affair and one should NEVER agree to sign up at the presentation, without carrying out extensive due diligence.
