George Reported: This people called saying there was a claim#
When I called back and told them I did not knew anything, they refused to give me any info and hung up on me.
Be aware, these people are scanners.
AS Reported: they called and said I have an outstanding debt for a pay day loan
Tip Reported: 18446618919. SCAM NUMBER. Called me twice and I called them on my work phone because they must've called my old home phone with my parents because my dad called right after them and he usually doesn't call during the work week. Tried to verify the last four of my social and my name and said they are debt collecting for $560.00. "Amanda"'s English was so muffled that I thought she mentioned Verizon 2012, and I told her I had statements showing I already paid (Old phone service). She started getting frustrated and said she didn't even mention Verizon, so I reiterated what this call was for and she finally spewed that I was a loan I had applied for in NOW SHE SAYS 2009. I tell her its not possible and I never applied for a loan. Amanda decides to get sassy and goes "If you didn't, I wouldn't be calling you now".
I replied to her saying it is not possible whatsoever because I was underage. I had to repeat that a few time before Ms. Amanda quits and says "Just pay your bill.." and hangs up. Amanda, if you're reading this, get a real job honey or get better at lying before flipping you lid when someone makes a fool of you.

Billing Scam
When someone demands payment of old debt (may be real or unreal) you should check your credit report to see whether it's actually on it, or not.
If the credit report does not state the debt at all, there is no need for you to pay even if you are convinced the debt is real, unless you are in a mood to pay it off!
There are thousands of illegal payday loan lenders who are not licensed to lend. Since they are not licensed they can't register themselves with credit rating agencies and hence can not report loan defaults.
They may try to recover the debt illegally. They may threaten to sue, but they cannot and will not, since they are illegal in the first place and hence can not approach courts!
If you want to know whether a lender is licensed to do business in your state, verify the information with your state banking regulator ( www. consumerfinance.gov/askcfpb/1637/how-do-i-find-my-states-bank-regulator.html ) or attorney general ( www . naag.org/current-attorneys-general.php )
