Trial Offer Scam
The voice mail is handiwork of scammers from Asia. The awful accent, grammar & usage gives it away. The scammers fraudulently use names of well known legal firms and throw around names of payday loan companies. Out of thousands of calls made at the same time, the scammers expect a few people to be alarmed enough, to respond. The victims are then terrorized into paying money, by threatening arrest, jail term, wage garnishment and in the case of immigrants, deportation.
Scammers use high sounding names like "Inktel Direct " to give the call a look of legitimacy. If only people who get such threatening calls could ask the caller about his whereabouts, the scam will unfold.
The crooks will refuse to give office location or provide address of an office which has nothing to do with them. All that we need to do to expose scam, is to grill the caller. If the call was legit, the caller would be very happy to provide information.
We should publish details of such threatening voicemail, to help spread information about the scam and save others from being victimized.
