Scam Phone Number 16468446238, BofA fake text alert message. BOA card was temporarily locked.
I received this text message 6/26 at 10:29am lf saying my BOA card was temporarily locked and call 646-844-6238 and I did NOT call it and instead called the number on the back of the card and found out it was a fake. Poor people who respond to realistic looking emails and text messages and do not use common sense and call the bank or card company direct using the number on their cards to verify if legit or not.

The automated system will ask the victim to key-in, card number, name, date of birth and even the security code! And at the end of it, it will declare that your card is reactivated!
We should call our banks only at it’s official phone number which would be at the back of the bank card. Scammers call and send text messages pretending to be a Bank and will either direct victims to a phishing site or would try to extract account info over the phone.

[The scammers are able to send such spam texts to thousands of phone numbers, effortlessly. They just need to type out that sentence. Add a large list of phone numbers and press send! The computer dials the numbers one after the other to send text message or would leave voice messages. When unfortunate victims call back, the system dupes them into sharing their card number, expiry date, DoB and even the PIN]
