There has been a rush of explicit text messages during the fortnight, soliciting a call back. These are being reported from across the US & Canada.

Looks like scammers have got hold of a huge database of phone numbers and a computer network is being used to spew out thousands of texts, every minute. It’s important that the texts are reported to the FTC to help trace the location of the rogue servers and take them down.

It’s unfortunate that these texts are landing on cell phones of even kids & teenagers.

Unfriend strangers in social media websites! Scammers run automated bots which sent such messages to thousands of people and those who revert are scammed into visiting adult, illegal or infected websites.

Hide phone number and email id in your social profiles. Don’t let scammers steal personal data.

Forward unsolicited, spam texts by simply texting it to 7726 (or “SPAM”) to block the sender.
