Scam Phone Number 02033222307, Call saying I owed £4000 in taxes to the HMRC. Pay now or face police.
Saying it's Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs .. I was apparently short on tax payment and unless £4000 is paid police will be sent... asking to call HMRC at above number

The HM Revenue & Customs would not call consumers to collect or refund taxes. If the department has something to inform, it would send a letter. The call was a scam to induce people to part with money by offering a non existent tax refund.
Most of these calls originate from foreign shores (but the caller ID would be spoofed to show a local number). The criminals engage illegal immigrants in UK as collection agents. The victims are usually told to pay using cash cards or Western Union to hide the money trail.
